Mia began her career as an English as a Second Language professor and has been building websites since the mid-90s, copy-and-pasting HTML and Java applets—and generally figuring out how things work. When Mia's not working, she's hanging out with her German Shepherd, Kona, or building iOS sticker apps with her own illustrations, participating in hackathons, working on her documentary film projects, studying Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, or making steamed dumplings from scratch. She's also skilled at repairing antique quilts by hand.‍
